We are a bean-to-bar chocolate brand, born in Manchester. Founded by Nina, whilst on her maternity leave, making chocolate was her way of winding down after a day of singing nursery rhymes and doting over her newborn. After many years making refined sugar free ‘chocolate’ to satisfy a very sweet tooth, she eventually delved deeper into the art of making chocolate from it’s origin. Working with cooperatives to source beans ethically, she quickly became fascinated with the process, and how three simple ingredients can create something so incredible.
Her labour of love and passion for chocolate, soon found Born chocolate stocked on shelves around Manchester.
We hope to highlight the importance of making chocolate more sustainable and ethically produced, as well as focus on what real chocolate is - minimal ingredients that come together when care and attention are paid throughout the process.
